A Golden Morning in Kyoto

Maruyama Park is best known for its cherry blossoms, but it is just as breathtaking in autumn. Situated at only about 20 minutes from the Kyoto Station, the park transforms into a warm palette of red and orange hues from Late September to November. Here, you will see maple trees surround the pond with their colors reflected in the still water. It is a peaceful spot where nature and quiet moments blend beautifully together.

Behind the Proposal

Norman wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Jen, in a place that felt both natural and romantic. Planning a proposal can be stressful enough, so he didn’t want to sweat the small details. He entrusted me with the planning and arrangements to make the process as seamless as possible, carefully selecting the right time, location, and floral setup so he could focus on what truly mattered: the moment itself.

A Morning to Remember

Norman drew inspiration from some of my previous photoshoots, envisioning something intimate and warm. On the morning of the proposal, we met at Maruyama Park at 7 a.m. to enjoy the soft light and quiet atmosphere before the crowds arrived. The park’s vibrant momiji, or Japanese maple trees, added depth and color to every shot, making the moment even more magical.

Capturing the Emotion

When Norman got down on one knee, the warm autumn tones framed the couple perfectly. The mix of red, orange, and gold leaves reflected the joy and tenderness of the moment. After the proposal, we wandered around the park to capture more photos, each one filled with genuine emotion and the quiet happiness of the day they decided to spend their lives together.
