Mt. Fuji Proposal: How Kenneth Pulled Off a Sunrise Serenade

Sharing music has long been a meaningful love language. From creating mixtapes in the 90s to curating personal playlists today, it has always been a way to express emotions and enrich shared experiences. For Ying Tong, music was one of the thoughtful details that made Kenneth’s proposal even more special.

Kenneth first reached out to me to ask for a quotation after seeing my work online. He already knew he wanted to propose at Kawaguchiko with Mt. Fuji as the backdrop, preferably in the morning when the skies are clearer. With that in mind, I sent him several spot recommendations so we could make the most out of the location.

We began planning everything before the big day to make sure things went smoothly. Since Kenneth was already familiar with my services, he asked for my help in arranging the flower bouquet and finding a guitar so he could play a song for Ying Tong during the proposal. I found a beautiful secondhand guitar during my search and secured it before heading to Kawaguchiko.

On the day of the proposal, Kenneth began by giving Ying Tong the bouquet, followed by a heartfelt serenade. The quietness of the morning and the peaceful surroundings created the perfect atmosphere for such an intimate moment. The small details, such as the flowers, the guitar, and the melody, brought everything together perfectly. Kenneth even kept the guitar as a souvenir.

While capturing the proposal, we also recorded a short video to preserve the sound of that moment. We knew it was something they would want to revisit years from now.

Afterward, we walked around the area to take more photos and immortalize the day.

Kenneth was extremely happy with the outcome, from the smooth planning process to how little he had to worry about on the actual day. He shared, “Thank you so much for yesterday and for going out of your way to prepare the guitar and flowers. My fiancée was very happy with the proposal.”

Proposals at Mt. Fuji may be popular, but personal touches such as music, flowers, and meaningful details make each one unique. No matter the location, every proposal is always special because it is a moment shared between you and the person you love.
