What's the Best Way to Get to My Photography Session in Kawaguchiko?

Getting to Kawaguchiko for your photo shoot can feel overwhelming, especially if it's your first time visiting this region at the base of Mt. Fuji. As someone who has guided countless couples through this journey, I completely understand the concerns about transportation logistics interfering with your special day.

The good news? With proper planning, getting to our shoot location becomes part of the adventure rather than stress.

For the smoothest experience, I recommend taking the highway bus from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko. It's the most convenient and reliable way to get there.

To avoid any last-minute stress, I also suggest booking a taxi through your hotel the day before your session (if you’re not opting for my pickup). This ensures we arrive at the ideal time.

A quick heads-up: local buses in Kawaguchiko stop running by 5:00 PM, and taxis don’t start operating until 7:00 AM. That makes early morning or evening sessions — often the most magical times for capturing Mt. Fuji in golden light — a bit tricky if you're relying on public transport.

That’s why staying overnight in Kawaguchiko is highly recommended, especially if you’re planning a sunrise shoot. If you're staying locally, I’ll gladly pick you up from your hotel or station in Kawaguchiko.

For the smoothest experience, I recommend letting me handle the pickup or booking a taxi through your hotel the day before your session. This eliminates any transportation stress and ensures we arrive at the perfect moment for optimal lighting.

Need help arranging transport from Tokyo? I also offer transportation options that many of my clients have found helpful. Feel free to ask for more details upon inquiry.
