Just the Two of Us: A Proposal at Momijidani Park
There is something undeniably special about intimate proposals. It is quiet, personal, and shared only between two people, creating a bond that feels deeply meaningful. This was exactly the kind of moment Mark had envisioned when he decided to propose to Zoey. He chose Momijidani Park, one of Japan’s most well known maple valleys, with its iconic red bridge as the backdrop for a day that would change their lives forever.
Momijidani Park is located on Miyajima Island, just off the coast of Hiroshima, and is accessible by ferry. To make the experience as seamless as possible, I coordinated the transportation details in advance, including ferry schedules and additional costs, and shared everything with Mark ahead of time. On the day itself, I arrived early to scout the area and send him reference photos so he could feel confident about the timing and location.
Mark wanted the proposal to feel calm, nature focused, and as private as possible. Since it was a surprise, the couple arrived dressed casually, enjoying the park like any other visitors.
With careful planning, everything unfolded naturally. I was able to capture the proposal, with just Mark and Zoey sharing a quiet, life-changing moment together. The red bridge complemented the surrounding maple trees beautifully, adding warmth and depth to every frame.
After Zoey said yes, I introduced myself and gave them time to take everything in. They later changed outfits, and we continued with an engagement shoot around the park. The journey to Miyajima was more than worth it. The scenery was stunning, and we spent time walking through the park, capturing relaxed, joyful photos surrounded by nature.
Moments like these are why I love what I do. From planning to execution, it is always a privilege to help couples create and preserve memories they will carry for a lifetime. If you are planning a proposal, engagement, or intimate moment in Japan, feel free to reach out to inquire about my services.
