Love in Bloom: A Spring Proposal in Japan
A proposal marks the start of a couple’s next chapter together. It’s a gesture that transcends language, with almost everyone waiting for one answer: yes.
While the ring is usually the main keepsake from this moment, booking a photoshoot is also a beautiful way to preserve the emotions and make the memory last forever.
My client, Matthew, reached out to inquire about a proposal shoot for his girlfriend, Tiffany. As always, I first asked about his non-negotiables, and his main request was simple: he wanted a location that wouldn’t be too crowded.
He initially planned to propose in Shinjuku on March 25, but I advised against it since it would likely be very busy during peak cherry blossom season.
Since they were both big fans of Japan, I suggested an alternative location instead. I figured that nothing captures the Japan atmosphere better than cherry blossoms in full bloom.
He trusted my recommendation, and it definitely paid off. We were welcomed by low-hanging cherry blossoms that formed beautiful tunnel-like pathways, and because we started early, there were barely any people around.
They booked the Standard package, which includes a one-hour photoshoot and 30+ edited photos, along with the static video add-on. It was the perfect way to preserve such a meaningful moment for them.
After receiving the photos, the couple shared how much they loved the results and how much fun they had during the shoot, which made me equally happy to hear.
Photographing real moments has been part of my life for more than 10 years, and it honestly never gets old. Whether it’s a proposal, wedding, family portrait, or solo shoot, feel free to reach out. Let’s create timeless memories together in Japan.
