A Tale of Friendship and Relationship Goals: A Double Proposal in Japan

Some stories are too special not to share, like the day Jonas & Misaki and Harry & Celeste both said “yes” at the view of Mt. Fuji. This day was special for many reasons. We celebrated love, friendship, trust, and two couples at the same time. One couple’s surprise proposal was planned, while the other’s best friend did the same just steps away. To make the day go smoothly, we had to coordinate timing and keep each moment a complete surprise. The focus was on capturing authentic emotion and unforgettable memories against one of Japan’s most breathtaking backdrops. Here’s how the day unfolded.

Planning Two Proposals at One Iconic Spot

Harry reached out with a special request: he and his friend wanted to propose to their partners at Mt. Fuji, but at two different locations and staggered times. After the first proposal was completed, we would immediately move to the second spot to capture the next moment. The goal was for each surprise to feel completely personal, yet both celebrations could happen on the same day, at the same breathtaking destination.

Jonas & Misaki flew in separately from Harry & Celeste, so when the big moment arrived, it was a complete shock for everyone. Keeping it a secret added an extra layer of excitement and ensured that every emotion captured on camera was genuine and unfiltered. We had to carefully organize the trip to make sure nothing spoiled the surprise for either couple.

Choosing the Perfect Location

We chose Nagasaki Park for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful views, and the fact that it’s rarely crowded. It felt like the perfect spot for an intimate proposal, with quiet paths and Mt. Fuji in the background setting the scene. With only a few distractions, each couple could focus completely on each other, making the moments feel personal and unforgettable.

The Moment Jonas & Misaki Said “Yes”

Jonas led Misaki along a peaceful pathway, completely unaware of what was coming. I stayed nearby, capturing the moment quietly so they could have their private experience. 

When Jonas proposed, her reaction was exactly what you hope for, full of surprise, joy, and love. The moment looked even more picturesque with just the two of them against the backdrop of the grain fields. It was a beautiful scene, and I had to move quickly to capture it because I knew another surprise was coming.

The Second Surprise: Harry Proposes to Celeste

After Jonas & Misaki’s Mt. Fuji proposal at Nagasaki Park, we quickly moved to Harry & Celeste’s spot. Timing was important, so we had to transition smoothly while keeping the atmosphere romantic and relaxed.

Harry and Celeste were standing by the lakeside under the shade of a tree, watching the first proposal. While Celeste was taking a photo of the newly engaged couple, Harry surprised her with a proposal of his own. 

Capturing this proposal by the lakeside was magical, full of laughter, tears, and genuine emotion. It was a moment they will treasure forever, and I made sure to capture every once-in-a-lifetime candid detail.
