A Picture-Perfect Cherry Blossom Proposal at Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji is one of Japan’s most iconic views, and seeing it with cherry blossoms in bloom makes it even more special. Ray and Jade were lucky to experience both in Lake Kawaguchiko, but while luck played a part, it was careful planning that brought everything together.

Ray inquired about my basic package, which includes a one-hour photoshoot in one location, and added a static video to capture his proposal to his girlfriend, Jade. When he reached out, he already had their stay booked in Lake Kawaguchiko from April 18 to 19 and asked for recommendations on the best time and location based on those dates.

Since he wanted a clear view of Mount Fuji, I suggested heading to the north side of the lake. The blossoms were a bit early that year, so I scouted the area the evening before and found a quiet spot with some of the last remaining blooms. He was really happy with it, and it turned out perfectly.

Luckily, their accommodation was close to the northern side of the lake, which made it easier to start early without needing extra transportation. We began at around 5:30 AM to catch the best light and views.

Starting this early was worth it, and the sunrise proposal was just beautiful. When he finally proposed, the view felt almost unreal. We were able to capture both Mount Fuji and the cherry blossoms perfectly in one frame, and the photos really speak for themselves. It felt like something out of a painting.

I’m really happy with how everything came together. If you’re planning something like this in Japan, I’d love to help. Let me guide you through the process and let’s make your proposal an unforgettable one. You can check out my packages below to get started.
